In the line of domestic antiviral agents, plant-based called Panavir has a special spray for the treatment of the oral cavity, which is called Panavir Inlayt. Is it possible to use it for kids, as it acts on the oropharynx and helps to protect the child’s body in the season of colds, will be discussed in this article.
Spray Panavir Inlayt is in the bottle is white with long spray nozzle and a transparent lid. Inside one bottle is 40 ml of gel, which is sprayed on the mucosa. The drug is produced in several other forms (gel for external use, solution for injections, candles), but in the treatment of children, they are not used. That is why the throat spray is often called the “children’s Panavir”.
The main ingredient means Panavir Inlayt is a polysaccharide derived from the tuber of Solanum (so-called familiar potato). They include glucose, galactose, rhamnose, mannose and other sugars. This complex is called Panavir, which patented the “national Research Company”.
In the package yellow mark is the only active connection, and in the box marked green, there’s another active ingredient – eucalyptus oil. Auxiliary components of the gel-spray are castor oil (hydrogenated), sodium hydroxide, lanthanum nitrate, polyethylene glycol and water. The alcohol in the product is missing.
Polysaccharides in the composition of the spray is capable of:
- To prevent the penetration of viruses in cells.
- To normalize the state of the mucosa of the oropharynx, helping it to recover faster from colds and other diseases.
- To suppress the formation of viral particles.
- Stimulate a local immune response.
- To reduce pain and local inflammation.
- To form a protective cover, to soften and moisturize mucous membranes.
The drug acts as antiviral agent, affecting the herpes viruses, rhinoviruses, molluscum contagiosum, influenza virus and other pathogens. The spray also has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and bactericidal effect. In addition, the Panavir has healing and regenerative effects. Adding eucalyptus oil enhances antimicrobial, immunomodulatory and disinfectant action of the spray.
Treatment of nasal cavity or mouth of gel Panavir Inlayt recommended:

- The flu.
- In the cold.
- Herpes on the lips.
- In cytomegalovirus infection.
- When herpes sore throat.
- After removal of the adenoids.
- When lesions in the mouth with the chicken pox.

The drug is often prescribed as a prophylaxis in the winter to protect the body from viral infections and colds.
The use of spray Panavir, which is composed of only the polysaccharides, are allowed from birth. Because the presence of eucalyptus component increases the risk of allergic reactions, the use of such a variant of Panavir Inlayt is recommended in children older than 1 year.
Treatment of oropharyngeal gel spray is prohibited only in case of individual hypersensitivity to any component of Panavir. If it is apparent after the first use of the spray, the drug is immediately canceled.
Negative action on an organism of the little patients spray Panavir in the treatment of oropharynx generally do not have. Even frequent and prolonged irrigation in most cases leads to the appearance of negative symptoms. An allergic reaction to the drug occurs very rarely. If the child has a predisposition to allergies, in the treatment or prevention of colds it is better to use Panavir without eucalyptus.
Before spray Panavir on the mucous membrane, it is important to ensure that the nozzle is fixed on the bottle tightly.
